Safety
Watson and Sons Construction is committed to providing each employee with a safe and healthy environment within the workplace. By training our employees to identify hazards and prevent on-site dangers, we develop a safety mindset in our foremen and crew.
We understand that for safety to work, it must be present in every aspect of construction such as planning, estimating, and construction operations. That is why at Watson and Sons Construction we have taken a proactive approach towards workplace safety by setting programs in place which include:
- New Employee Orientation and Safety Training for all employees on their very first day of work
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided to all employees and replaced as required
- Job Site Safety Orientation specific to their onsite job tasks
- Daily Pre-Task Planning that focuses on daily work tasks and related risks
- Weekly Safety “Toolbox Talks”
- Safety Training Units
- Specialized Safety Training Activities including OSHA 10/30 Hour, Competent Person, Trench, and Confined Space Training
- Drug-free Work Zone Policy
- Random drug testing throughout employment
- Physical Exams
Family
Watson and Sons’ background comes from that of a long-time carpenter, Aaron Watson, who started the business in 1997 and now works with his three sons as a general contractor. As a family business, we seek a welcoming atmosphere that promotes a family environment within our workplace. Additionally, Watson and Sons Construction believes in developing our employees and providing talented workers with further opportunities to grow into a leadership role.
